Activity 9.2 My One-Liners

What will you say to help you avoid getting into situations where you think there will be activities such as using drugs, alcohol or other substances that are bad for your brain? Practicing “one-liners” can help you avoid getting into a situation that will be uncomfortable or dangerous. Here are some examples: “Sorry, I can’t smoke pot because I have an allergic reaction to it and can get really sick!” or “I don’t like alcohol, and a member of my family died from alcohol poisoning and so I am against using it.” or “I promised my mother I would not use drugs and I value her trust.”

You know what sorts of situations that are most likely to come up, and you know what would work best with the people that might try to pressure you, so come up with some ideas that you can easily imagine using.
